The European Commission reports several honey-related fraud suspicions in its monthly agri-food fraud monitoring reports for May and June 2026.

Commission corrigenda clarify that the antimicrobial attestation introduced by Implementing Regulations (EU) 2024/399 and (EU) 2024/2020 applies only to consignments both certified and entering the EU from 3 September 2026.

Unauthorised substances (sildenafil and paracetamol) have been detected in honey from Malaysia. The notifying country was Germany. The risk decision is “serious”.
